By offering several programs, Civil Defender Arms LLC gives you the tools to gain an advantage through specialized training. Learn more about your options below, and feel free to reach out with any questions.  Advanced classes require pre-requisites.  Class registration closes 7 days prior to scheduled class date.

Handgun Classes

We provide several levels of training that implement many tools that may be needed in the unfortunate event that you are forced to employ your carry weapon in defense of yourself or others.  We will continue adding classes covering a range of topics so please keep checking back.

Firearms

Rifle Classes

Some times threats present themselves at extended distances or a ballistic advantage is needed which makes the use of a handgun impractical.  Come learn the techniques needed to use a rifle as an effective tool in self-defense.  We will continue adding classes covering a range of topics so please keep checking back.

Additional Training Options and Other Available Services

Range Safety Officer Certification

Get the required certification to work at public shooting ranges.  This course teaches the basic duties a Range Safety Officer performs. It provides a thorough introduction to: the role of Range Safety Officers (RSOs); range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); range safety briefings; range inspections and rules; emergency procedures; and how to clear firearm stoppages and correct malfunctions. The skills acquired in this course require regular practice which should initially take place under the supervision of a qualified individual-such as an NRA Chief Range Safety Officer (CRSO). This is not a regularly scheduled class so please send us a message expressing your interest in attaining your certification.  Minimum student enrollment is 4 students. Gun Cleaning and Maintenance Course

Just like any mechanical device, firearms need to be maintained if we expect them to serve their purpose when we need it most and for a long life time. This class will teach you how to properly clean and maintain your firearm so it will run when you need it to run. Please bring your own cleaning kit appropriate for your firearm type and caliber. Handgun Classes

Required materials include:

(not all materials are used in every class)


Each student must have their own firearm and gear.  No Sharing.

Strong side OWB/IWB holster correctly fit for specific pistol of choice
     Holster must fully cover trigger guard on both sides
     Holster must remain open when pistol is removed

          Recommend kydex or injection molded type

Some classes require atleast level 2 retention holsters
          Blackhawk serpa/trigger finger release mechanisms and crossdraw holsters are prohibited

At least 3 magazines or speed loaders for pistol

Belt mounted magazine pouch.  Two singles or one double pouch

Eye protection with side impact shields

Ear protection.  (Electronic ear protection preferred)

Closed toe shoes, crew neck type shirt, baseball cap, sturdy belt

Knee and elbow pads (optional)

Only factory produced FMJ or standard hollow point ammunition

       allowed.  Round count listed in class description.

     NO RELOADS ALLOWED

     NO steel jacket or steel core ammunition (test with a magnet)

     NO armor piercing, tracer or incendiary ammunition

Pen and paper for note taking

Weather appropriate clothing, sunscreen, bug spray, water, snacks, sack lunch for full day classes, camping type folding chair

Rifle Classes

Each student must have their own firearm and gear.  No Sharing.


Quality stock rifle (semi-auto preferred) 
     No light (hair) triggers.  At least 4 lb pull weight

          *Please have rifle zeroed for your chosen distance before attending class, if possible

No minimum caliber requirement.  We recommend smaller calibers for basic fundamentals and beginners.

Mounted sling (Recommend 2 point sling)

At least 3 magazines for rifle or reloading options

Belt mounted magazine pouch

Eye protection with side impact shields

Ear protection  (Electronic ear protection preferred)

Closed toe shoes, crew neck type shirt, baseball cap, sturdy belt

Knee and elbow pads (optional)
